Five ways to Maintain Healthy Nails
Winter and The Holidays are Near! So as you prepare your home to stay warm and cozy during the most beautiful time of year, make sure you prepare your skin and nails too! Here are my five top tips for how to maintain healthy nails.
Five ways to Maintain Healthy Nails
Moisture! Moisture! Moisture! Use cuticle oil to moisturize your nails and cuticles. This helps treat and prevent hangnails and cracked bleeding cuticles. Did I say Moisture? Oh, yes! More Moisture is needed but especially for your hands. Every time you wash your hands or get them wet, follow with a quality hand cream or lotion that will moisturize your hands.
2. Hydration! Drink at least eight glasses of water daily to moisturize your nails from the inside and out!
3. Nutrition! Make sure your body has all the building blocks to grow healthy nails! Consume protein rich foods like beans, fish, and nuts. Also, consider supplements like Biotin, Vitamin E, and fish oils.
4. Natural! Give your nails a break and go natural! Polish can dry your nails out. If you notice that your fingernails or toenails have white spots or are yellowish, it’s time to take a break! Natural, healthy nails are beautiful!
5. Protect! Wearing gloves is a great defense! Hot water and detergents can weaken nails when doing dishes, so glove up! Also, wearing gloves or mittens in cold weather can keep you warm and help prevent cold air from taking away Moisture and drying your hands out.
I am sure you are doing all the above and already have beautiful, natural nails! But if you struggle with dryness, we can help!
